If you visit the salt factory, you will be able to see the salt-making procedure. Puttalam is also known for energy production, coconut production, and fishing. It has one of the largest lagoons in the country. Puttalam is popularly known for its kind and hospitality people. Puttalam town is near Anamaduwa which is the biggest city in Puttalam. The city has good road connections from Kalpitiya, Chilaw, Negombo, and Anuradhapura along Wilpattu's main entrance. Towards the north, the B379 road runs, along the west entrance to Wilpattu National Park.
